How Do I Care For My Linen Products?
To keep your linen-rayon tablecloths and garments looking their best, we recommend gentle machine washing in cold water with mild detergent. Avoid bleach or harsh chemicals, as these can weaken the fibers. For best results, lay flat to dry or tumble dry on low heat. Iron on a medium setting while slightly damp to smooth out wrinkles easily. Why do linen and linen blends vary in colour and feel, even when it’s the same product?
Linen and linen blends are natural, artisanal fabrics, which means subtle variations are part of their unique character.
Differences can occur due to a few key factors:
Weave process: Each batch of fabric is woven separately, and slight variations in tension, yarn thickness, or weave structure can affect how the fabric feels—some may feel slightly softer, heavier, or more textured than others.
Dyeing process: Natural fibres like linen absorb dye differently from batch to batch. Even when the same dye formula is used, factors such as water composition, temperature, and dye absorption can result in small shifts in colour tone.
Fibre composition (for blends): Linen blends combine linen with other fibres (like cotton, viscose, or polyester), and the ratio or behaviour of these fibres during production can influence both colour depth and texture.
Because of this, fabrics may not look or feel identical across different production runs—but these nuances are what give linen its organic, lived-in beauty and individuality.
